Payment and pricing policy
Your reservation request will be confirmed upon receipt of the full payment due at the time of booking. In these cases, you will be notified at the time of booking. Although every effort will be made to confirm your request, please note that travel arrangements are not confirmed until you receive our written confirmation and Calypso Adventures reserves the right to make changes if required. Before a booking is confirmed, Calypso Adventures reserves the right to amend price of product due to any circumstances outside the control of Calypso Adventures such as but not limited to changes relating to governmental action, increases in transportation costs (including cost of fuel) changes in any dues, taxes, or fees chargeable for services increases in admission fees and hotel rate adjustments / availability. Advertised prices are also subject to seasonal changes, exchange rates and may vary slightly. Payments can be made via bank transfers, Visa, or MasterCard. A binding contract will come into existence between you and us as soon as we have issued you with a booking confirmation that will confirm the details of your booking and will be sent to you or your travel agent. Upon receipt, if you believe that any details on the booking confirmation or any other document is wrong you must advise us immediately as changes cannot be made later and it may harm your rights if we are not notified of any inaccuracies in any document within ten days of our sending it out.
Cancellations by clients
Clients wishing to cancel must inform Calypso Adventures in writing signed by the lead passenger on the booking form. Cancellation will take effect on the date the cancellation request is received, and the following general cancellation charges will apply.

For below special packages the general cancellation fees will apply plus the following additional charges
Unredeemed vouchers (Travel dates not decided by the customer and not confirmed by Calypso Adventures) can be cancelled within validity time with a cancellation fee of CRC 50,000 per voucher. The cancellation process will take 3 to 6 months until the amount is returned.
Cancellation by Calypso Adventures
Calypso Adventures reserves the right to cancel any confirmed booking in any circumstances, however, Calypso Adventures will not cancel a Guaranteed Departure Product except in the unusual circumstances of force majeure, defined here as war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, flight cancellation or any other external circumstances beyond the control of Calypso Adventures.
Compensation is not available if Calypso Adventures is forced to cancel or in any way change a tour due to force majeure but where Calypso Adventures is unable to provide the tour booked, Calypso Adventures is not responsible to deliver any service or liable for a service for an already booked package and is not liable to refund or compensate the customer.
Amendments / changes
Once a booking has been confirmed any amendments must be advised and confirmed latest by 72 hours before travelling by the lead passenger on the booking and will incur charges based on hotels.
No requested change can be guaranteed. If any number of the party is prevented from travelling because of death, injury or serious illness of the client, close relative or friend, redundancy or jury service, it may be possible to transfer the booking to another suitable person or departure date or tour of similar standard and cost provided that written notice is confirmed by Calypso Adventures If a refund is payable by Calypso Adventures to the Client, the refund amount will be calculated according to the conditions as mentioned and with consideration of evidence of exceptional circumstances. Calypso Adventures will not pay fees charged to the Client by the Client’s bank for processing the credited amount. Once hotel reservations have been confirmed, Calypso Adventures reserves the right to substitute hotels listed with others of a similar category. Hotels reserve the right to close facilities due to operational reasons without prior notice.
Accuracy
We endeavor to ensure that all the information and prices on our website are accurate, however occasionally changes and errors occur, and we reserve the right to correct prices and other details in such circumstances. You must check the current price and all other details relating to the arrangements that you wish to book before you make your booking.
Insurance
Adequate travel insurance is a condition of your contract with us. You must be satisfied that your insurance fully covers all your personal requirements including pre-existing medical conditions, cancellation charges, medical expenses, and repatriation in the event of accident or illness. On the first day of each trip, one of our representatives will verify that you have sufficient insurance in place. If you are undertaking any adventure sports or other such activities as part of your tour, you must ensure this is covered by your travel insurance policy. If you choose to travel without adequate insurance cover, we will not be liable for any losses howsoever arising, in respect of which insurance cover would otherwise have been available.
Special Requests
Any special requests must be advised to us at the time of booking e.g., diet, room location, a particular facility at a hotel etc. You should then confirm your requests in writing. Whilst every effort will be made by us to try and arrange your reasonable special requests, we cannot guarantee that they will be fulfilled. The fact that a special request has been noted on your confirmation invoice or any other documentation or that it has been passed on to the supplier is not confirmation that the request will be met. Failure to meet any special request will not be a breach of contract on our part unless the request has been specifically confirmed by us. We do not accept bookings that are conditional upon any special request being met.
Disabilities and Medical Problems
We are not a specialist disabled trip company, but we will do our utmost to cater for any special requirements you may have. If you or any member of your party has any medical problem or disability which may affect your booking, please provide us with full details before you make your booking so that we can try to advise you as to the suitability of your chosen arrangements. We may require you to produce a doctor’s certificate certifying that you are fit to participate. Acting reasonably, if we are unable to properly accommodate the needs of the person(s) concerned, we will not confirm your booking or if you did not give us full details at the time of booking, we will cancel it and impose applicable cancellation charges when we become aware of these details.
Complaints
We make every effort to ensure that your trip arrangements run smoothly but if you do have a problem during your trip, please inform the Group Leader immediately who will endeavor to put things right. If your complaint is not resolved locally, please contact calypsoadventurescr@gmail.com
Acknowledgment of Risk
You acknowledge that the nature of the trip is adventurous, and participation involves a degree of personal risk over and above that associated with a conventional trip. You will be visiting places where the political, cultural, and geographical attributes may present dangers and physical challenges greater than those present in our normal daily lives. We use all available information in assessing whether the itinerary should operate, and group leaders will always be with you during group activities to advise on best practice with regards to safety, however there may still be inherent risks due to the nature of the activity and you need to always take all reasonable precautions.
You acknowledge that your decision to travel is made considering of this information and you accept that you assume the personal risks attendant upon such travel. You will also need to sign a Participation Form on starting the tour.
Liability of Calypso Adventures
Calypso Adventures acts as the Tour Operator only on behalf of the suppliers and accordingly accepts no liability whatsoever for loss, damage, injury, accident, delay, or any other irregularity arising whatsoever. Calypso Adventures products and in particular adventure activities contain an element of risk to the personal safety of the client that other package holidays may not contain. By accepting these booking conditions clients are aware of the risks inherent in their chosen travel and clients undertake such risks at their own volition. Calypso Adventures accepts no liability of client's damages where Calypso Adventures has fulfilled its duty of care to clients by providing products of a reasonable standard. Calypso Adventures has no direct control over the provision of services / facilities by the relevant suppliers and hence we do not accept liability for errors or omissions by the suppliers. Calypso Adventures accepts no liability if there has been no fault on the part of Calypso Adventures or its' suppliers and the reason for the claimed damages was either the client's fault or a result of unusual circumstances beyond the control Calypso Adventures by force majeure and the consequences of which could not have been avoided even with all due care. In respect of carriage by air, sea and rail and the provision of accommodation, Calypso Adventures liability in the said cases will be limited in the manner provided by the relevant international conventions. Calypso Adventures accepts no liability if additional costs to the client are incurred through delay, accident, or disruption of the product(s) beyond the control of Calypso Adventures by force majeure.
